Happy Towel Day

Any Douglas Adam's fan here. Most of us at Webaroo are BIG fans. After all our product was once compared to the Hitchhiker's Guide. 25th May is celebrated as Towel Day as tribute by fans.

And here's why we celebrate Towel Day.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy itself defines a towel as "about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitch hiker can have". Its uses, as listed, include: wrapping it round you for warmth; sunbathing on it; sleeping under it; wetting it for use in hand-to-hand combat; waving it in emergencies as a distress signal (see below); and wrapping it round your head to avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal because this is such a "mindboggingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can't see it, it can't see you". You can also, of course, dry yourself off with it, if it still seems to be clean enough.

BlogCamp @ Pune

The organizers of BarCamp are organizing BlogCamp in Pune, India on 16th June at SCIT (Symbiosis Center for Information Technology) at Hinjewadi IT Park.

The event promises to be interesting for bloggers and there will be random presentations on blogging and trends surrounding it. A small team of Webaroo would be attending it and talking about our SMS GupShup product. If you happen to be around, do come and say hello to us.

GupShup: A world of short messages

GupShup, which literally means chitchat, is the latest offering of Webaroo. With over 100 sms blogs already in action, the section definitely makes a good read. Getting started is really easy and all it takes is a mobile phone to get started. This service is currently available only in India.
