A part of the free encyclopedia is now being offered on CDs. It's a great idea, especially in places where the Internet is not accessible or the speeds are not fast enough. (Source: Slashdot Story)
But if you aren't satisfied with just the 1964 articles that you will be able to browse through the CD and are not constrained by download speeds, why don't you download the whole of it?
There is the regular English version and then there are slices to quell your hunger for information on niche topics. And if you want it in Japanese, German, French, Italian or Spanish, that too is available. Portugese and Chinese versions will soon be added.
That makes it a cool 2.5 million articles available offline.
